National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) – Class X Students

About:

The National Talent Search Examination for the students studying in Class X is meant to identify and nurture talent. The examination is conducted every year at two levels:-

Stage I (State Level)

Stage II (National Level)

Scholarship:

  1. Scholarship of Rs. 1250/- Per Month for class XI and XII.
  2. Scholarship of Rs. 2000/- Per Month for Under Graduates and Post Graduates.
  3. Amount of Scholarship for Ph.D is fixed in accordance with UGC norms.

Eligibility: 

All students of Class X studying in recognised school are eligible to appear for the stage I examination conducted by state/UTs in which the schools are located.

Reservation: 

SC -15%

ST-7.5%

Physically chalanged-4%

Selection:

Stage I, selection will be done by state/UTs and those who qualify stage 1, will be qualify to appear for stage II examination, conducted by NCERT.

Qualifying Marks:

Qualifying marks for candidates from General category is 40% in each paper and candidates from SC, SC, PH is 32% in each paper.

Exam Fees:

Stage I :  States and UT may notify the fee required for the Stage-I examination,

KISHORE VAIGYANIK PROTSAHAN YOJANA (KVPY) 2017


Run by Indian Institute of Science, Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India invites application for the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) 2017 to take up research career in Science. The aim of the program is to ensure the growth of the best scientific minds for research and development in the country.

  • Students intending to pursue/pursuing graduation program in Basic Sciences, that is, B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S. in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Cell Biology, Ecology, Molecular Biology, Botany, Zoology, Physiology, Biotechnology, Neurosciences, Bioinformatics, Marine Biology, Geology, Human Biology, Genetics, Biomedical Sciences, Applied Physics, Geophysics, Materials Science or Environmental Science.
  • Students who have secured a minimum of 80% (70% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in Maths and Science subjects in the class 10 board examination and have secured a minimum of  60% (50%for SC/ST/PWD) marks in aggregate in Science subjects in the class 12 board examination.

Awards : Monthly stipend Rs 7000 and annual contingency Rs 28000
