ABOUT THE FELLOWSHIP
AIF’s William J. Clinton Fellowship for Service in India is an immersive, interdisciplinary, experiential leaning program that places young professionals in service with development organizations in India. AIF selects, trains, and supports Fellows through professional development and mentoring during their ten months of service. Fellows work on scalable and sustainable development projects in the fields of education, livelihoods, and public health. Through collaboration and capacity-building, Fellows and local communities form dynamic partnerships to exchange knowledge and skills, and share a mutual passion for advancing social and economic development. Fellows support AIF’s partner organizations at a crucial moment of scalability by meeting their human resource and organizational needs. Responsibilities vary based on the needs of the host organizations, project goals, and a Fellow’s skill sets. Fellows serve through contributing their efforts and skills to developing ongoing initiatives, as well as strategizing new projects. To review previous projects, please read here. The program is fully funded. AIF provides Fellows with a living stipend, health insurance, professional development, and programmatic benefits to enable their service. All program related travel from their home to the Fellowship site as well as to programmatic conferences is covered by AIF. Selection of Fellows includes a written application and an in-person interview, followed by matching with potential partner organizations through a project portal.

WHO ARE THE HOST ORGANIZATIONS?
Curious who you might be placed with? AIF’s partner organizations for the Fellowship represent a variety of NGOs and social enterprises who share our mission, vision, and values in improving the conditions of India’s most marginalized communities. Generally 60% of host organizations are returning partners and 40% are new partners. Our partners are direct implementation organizations that have a registered office in India and go through a selection process including a written application, an interview, and an evaluation visit. Only organizations putting forth applications that demonstrate a robust 10-month project with clear deliverables and goals, as well as a sound sustainability plan post-Fellowship, will be given the opportunity to host a Fellow. AIF supports partner organizations through training and resources during the 10-month Fellowship period.

SELECTION TIMELINE
AIF will begin reviewing applications after the deadline on January 20, 2020. Candidates who pass the written application stages will be notified by the end of March if they are invited for an in-person interview in April. AIF hosts in-person interviews in the U.S. and India only; candidates are expected to travel to the nearest location if considered. Candidates who are short-listed after the in-person interviews will be invited for matching with potential host organizations through AIF’s project portal in May.
